Swim Team Coaches

Head Coach: Kate Schaeffer

Hi! My name is Kate Schaeffer. I am a 3rd grade teacher at Bridgeport Elementary in Hamilton City. My family has been members of Miami Hills for 23 years. I started swimming on the Miami Hills swim team when I was 6 years old and swam for 12 years. I also swam and played water polo for Milford High School for 3 years. This is my 8th season working at Miami Hill as a lifeguard, swim instructor and assistant manager. This will be my 5th season coaching the Miami Hills Dolphins (3rd season as head coach). I can’t wait to get this swim season rolling! GO DOLPHINS!

Coach: Lindsey Schaeffer

Hi!! My name is Lindsay Schaeffer. I will be a senior at Ohio University this fall studying special education. My family has been members of Miami Hills for 23 years. I started swimming on the Miami Hills swim team when I was 6 years old and swam for 7 years. I also swam and played water polo for Milford High School for 3 years. I am currently playing and the president of the Ohio University club water polo team. This will be my 6th season working at Miami Hills as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and head of front desk and concessions. This will be my first season as an official coach, and I am very excited! GO DOLPHINS!!

Coach: Amanda Serger

My name is Amanda Serger, and I am the 11-12 coach for this summer. I am currently a senior at St. Ursula Academy (almost a graduate!!), and swam all four years, serving as captain this year. Additionally, I swim year-round at Cincinnati Aquatic Club, and have been a Miami Hills Dolphin since I was 6. Next fall, I plan on studying mechanical engineering at the University of West Florida while swimming. When I’m not at the pool, I enjoy reading and hanging out with friends. I’m so excited to coach this summer, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Coach: Nischal Suhas

My name is Nischal and I will be an Assistant Coach this summer. Out of the water, I am a soon-to-be graduate of Mason High School and will be attending Purdue University this fall to study Aerospace Engineering. I enjoy watching tv, absolutely love all things Marvel, and hope to work for NASA one day. In the water, I have been swimming year-round since 2013 as part of the Mason Manta Rays and swam for all 4 years on the Mason Varsity team, earning two District Championship berths in the process. This year will be my first with Miami Hills but I’m excited to get to know this team and its swimmers! Let’s make this a great summer season!

Dive Team Coaches

Coach: Karina Ashton

Hello, my name is Karina Ashton! I am currently a freshman in college studying Psychology in New Paltz, NY. I went to Mason High School, and dove all for years on varsity. I was named GMC diver of the year in 2019. I made state all four years, senior year ended 6th place. I also had the amazing opportunity to train with the Chinese Olympic Diving Team in Guangzhou, China summer of 2019. I am no longer a diver, but I love to coach. I am super stoked to train with this team and get to know everyone. I can’t wait to see you guys achieve your goals! Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions!

Coach: Landon Kirk

My name is Landon Kirk. I am a senior nursing student at Xavier University. I will graduate with my BSN just a few weeks before the 2022 season begins. I will being my job as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, this summer. I graduated from Little Miami High School in Morrow, OH. There, I dove for 2 years, placing 2nd in my league and numerous appearances at sectionals and districts. I coached the dive team at Miami Hills Swim Club in 2020. I am excited to return in 2022! I cannot wait to teach and watch the kids grow!!
