Resignation Process

Whether you're stepping away or passing the torch, here's everything you need to know about ending or transferring your MHS&TC membership.

Is it time to end your membership to MHS&TC? There are 2 ways to proceed: Sell your membership back to the club or make a Private Sale to a neighbor or friend who is interested in joining.
Option 1

Sell Your Bond Back to the Club

Return your bond certificate and receive a refund for the amount you originally paid
To sell your bond back to the club for the original price you paid (currently $300), you must return your original bond certificate. There is a place on the back to sign as “transferor” and date it. Send the bond along with a letter stating your intent to resign and include an address where you would like your refund check sent. Please mail this all to:

The bookkeeper will process it when received and send the refund check to you for the amount you originally paid for the bond.

Can’t find your original bond? Send a letter stating your intent to resign. You will receive 75% of the amount you paid for your bond.

Option 2

Make a Private Sale

Transfer your membership to a friend or neighbor who is interested in joining.

To make a Private Sale to a friend or neighbor, sign and date the back of the bond certificate as the transferor. Send the bond along with a letter stating to whom you are transferring your membership.

MHS&TC is not involved in financial transactions between the seller and buyer. The current bond price of $300 will be entered into our records.

For The Purchaser

Steps to Activate Your New Membership

The purchaser of the bond is required to complete the following steps before their membership is active.
  • Submit Application Complete the New Member Application Form — mark it as Private Sale with the seller's name listed.
  • Medical Form Complete the Membership Emergency Medical Form & Indemnity Agreement.
  • Pay All Fees Pay Application fee, Initiation fee, and Annual Dues in full.
  • Membership Active Your membership is complete when paperwork is processed and all fees are received. A new bond certificate will be issued.
